CPH ART WEEK

As the colorful sunsets become more saturated, and spectacular clouds draw everyone’s attention to natural wonders, we are reminded that Fall is peeking just around the corner.  It is also that time of year for the annual Copenhagen Art week.

CPH Art Week was established in 2013 as a festival highlighting contemporary art through exhibits, talks, seminars, tours and performances.  I had the wonderful opportunity to attend two years ago, for 2017’s SOUND & VISION (August 24th – September 3rd). Aside from the location, the theme really piqued my interest. I am always curious to experience another city’s version of sights and sounds, and the people it draws.

If you’re looking for a delightful way to close out your summer, Copenhagen Art Week is your ticket.

CPH 2019 runs August 24th through September 1st and you can experience it throughout the city – museums, outdoor spaces, performances, small galleries.  As an extension of Basel, the two main fairs are CHART & CODE, where you can cover the most ground.  However, the city abounds with so many local artisans and small galleries, you are likely to stumble across participants as you search for your next meal, or bike along one of the many paths.

Here are some pictures and videos from my 2017 CPH Art experience.  While there was entirely too much to see and include, I selected some highlights from my visit (all photos + videos are my own). If you’re the type of person who likes to get in on things before they grow into another experience entirely, I would book your ticket.
